Booking Your Newborn Session: Capturing Precious Moments

Welcoming a newborn into your family is an incredibly special and joyous occasion. Those precious early days go by in the blink of an eye, making it essential to capture those fleeting moments with professional newborn photography. If you’re considering booking a newborn session, here are some tips to help you make the most of this magical experience.

1. Plan Ahead

Contacting a newborn photographer during your pregnancy is recommended to secure a spot in their schedule. Newborn sessions are typically best done within the first two weeks after birth when babies are more likely to be sleepier and pose more easily. So, don’t wait until the last minute!

2. Research and Choose a Photographer

Take the time to do some research and find a photographer who specializes in newborn sessions. Look for someone with experience, a style that resonates with you, and positive reviews from previous clients. You’ll want to find someone who can capture the beauty and innocence of your little one in a safe and comfortable environment.

3. Discuss Your Vision and Expectations

Before booking your session, have a conversation with your chosen photographer about your vision and expectations. Once baby arrives we will send a questionnaire to help us bring your vision to life too!

This discussion will help ensure that both you and the photographer are on the same page regarding the style, props, poses, and overall theme of the session. Clear communication is key to achieving the desired results.

4. Prepare Your Baby

To help your baby feel comfortable and content during the session, make sure they are well-rested, well-fed, and have a clean diaper before arriving at the studio. We will provide you a prep guide to ensure you are fully prepped for what to expect before the session too.

Keep in mind that the studio will be warm, as newborns prefer a cozy environment similar to what they experienced in the womb. Dress your little one in loose-fitting, easy-to-remove clothing to avoid disturbing them during outfit changes.

5. Be Flexible and Patient

Newborn sessions can take time, as babies may need frequent breaks for feeding, changing, and soothing. It’s important to be patient and flexible during the session, allowing the photographer to work their magic while prioritizing the comfort and safety of your baby. Remember, the goal is to capture beautiful moments, not to rush through the process.

And when you’re home and ready it’s time to schedule your pre-booked newborn session with Emerson Grace Photography.
